The Village Green

A new pop-up outdoor summer venue for Sydney

As NSW finally begins to reopen and moves towards 2022 with positive anticipation, Australian music industry stalwarts Architects of Entertainment today announce a new outdoor summer venue, The Village Green, set to pop up at Tempe Recreation Reserve in Sydney’s inner west from Friday 21 Jan to Sunday 27 February.

Conveniently located just 20 minutes from the CBD, and just 700m from Sydney International Airport, The Village Green is a lush greenfield venue surrounded by a perfect circle of enormous fig trees.

The walk-in concert venue will provide promoters and touring companies with full event infrastructure and top-tier production from Architects of Entertainment (“AoE”), Australia’s most experienced event and production managers.

The Village Green co-owner Nathaniel Holmes: “Never before has a venue like The Village Green been available to the Australian music industry. With support from Inner West Council, we now have a previously unused, completely unique parcel of land, for six weeks, during the best part of summer, fully licensed for outdoor live music, dancing, food and beverage – it’s a dream come true.

“The Village Green is a direct response to the COVID restrictions affecting the live music and events industries. What we’ve created here in Tempe is an outdoor venue capable of accommodating crowd capacities that most indoor venues in Sydney are still unable to achieve.”

“We’re incredibly proud to be able to do our bit for the broader industry recovery program and we can’t wait to see everyone -- back playing music, back dancing, back eating and drinking, back at work! -- at The Village Green in Summer 2022.”

The Village Green co-owner Haydn Johnston: “Sydney is more than ready for a return to live music, and we’ve got the perfect spot for it. Together Nathaniel and I have been producing shows for over 25 years. More than anything, the last two years have shown us exactly how much we appreciate the industry we’re in and the opportunities we have to do the work we do, so we’re very happy to be able to help bring live music back to life in Australia.”

Designed to host up to 2,800 patrons plus guests, The Village Green is easily accessed by train or bus and has 6,500 sqm of parking space available. The pop-up venue also provides food and beverage options and full amenities in a lively and atmospheric outdoor greenfield location.

Stay tuned for the The Village Green’s lineup announcement coming soon.
